"We built Cannacter because nobody wants to get their weed from Pfizer or the mob." - Steffo Mitakides / CEO and Founder
Wholesale craft cannabis sales are broken. Buying and selling cannabis sucks. Craft farmers that produce incredible flower face an expensive and burdensome sampling and sales process. Retail buyers confront an overwhelming amount of noise, inefficiency and lack of follow-through in the market. What if wholesale craft cannabis sales could happen seamlessly through a trusted virtual network?
Cannacter was built by a team who understand the complex and frustrating landscape of wholesale cannabis sales in Washington State and beyond. Founded in 2017 in a West Seattle studio apartment by cloud consultant/cannabis advocate Steffo Mitakides, Cannacter are purveyors of fine craft cannabis and suppport small, familly-owned farms. Along with cannabis wizards Cara Wietstock, Elle Orr and Cass Stewart, the Cannacter team has built a network of the best producers and retailers in Washington. "Trust is our superpower. We understand the challenges of both buyers and sellers and are committed to building a cannabis network that levels the playing field, " says Mitakides
Upon obtaining funding from Google Cloud in late 2017, the Cannacter team began to develop the industry’s first B2B online marketplace and auction for finished goods...a community where farmers earn a fair price at retail and buyers get the best available cannabis products. For retailers, the Cannacter platform gives better access to vetted craft farms, streamlines communications and offers up a trusted, curated marketplace. For farmers, Cannacter enables quality retail exposure, identifies the right fit for particular brands, helps with insights/analytics and establishes price based on value and demand.
